Mold from Faulty Plumbing in Carson City

The mold grew in this laundry closet because of a faulty joint in the PVC drain system. Moisture, when added to the cardboard of the drywall as a food source and a dark space, invited fungi proliferation. A small demolition to remove the materials was cheaper and more expedient than attempting to scrape and clean the surface mold patches. This would not have resolved the problem because the leak, which had to be fixed, would have continued to dampen the wall cavity leading to more mold growth.
